Clinical Director, Commissioning Support for London - Further InformationLondon1002-001L
Attractive Package
Commissioning Support for London (CSL) was set up in 2009 to help London’s Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) to strengthen their commissioning capability, offering a central expert shared service in support of achieving World Class Commissioning goals. An independent organisation, CSL is hosted by Camden PCT, and has its own Board of executive directors and customer representatives, led by an Executive Chair. CSL aims to deliver tangible benefits to commissioners, facilitating multi-million pound cost savings; driving improvements in the quality of care; providing data to enable better strategic planning and supporting PCTs in achieving World Class Commissioning competencies. The Clinical Director will lead the Clinical and Health Intelligence Directorate, which aims to ensure clinical engagement and evidence-based knowledge is available to support and facilitate the implementation of Healthcare for London pathways of care, together with other CSL programmes. The Directorate also supports effective decision-taking and high quality clinical practice in London. Candidates are likely to have a clinical background, preferably gained in Primary Care, although CSL would also be interested in speaking to individuals with experience of health economics or informatics. Evidence of leadership and delivery, gained in a complex, multi-stakeholder context is required, combined with the energy and commitment to be part of the executive team in a fast-moving ambitious organisation. CSL is a new enterprise, with a fascinating agenda, and the leadership team has the opportunity to shape the organisation and to help it to grow and expand, including beyond its current focus on London, as it becomes self-standing. Candidates will need to be entrepreneurial, self-confident and self-motivated individuals, action-oriented team players, and keen to make things happen.
